Monday Leftovers

Yesterday was a big day with my Steelers beating the Bengals - I was in Cinci for the game - so let's get to the leftovers.

Wilma stormed the beaches of Florida this morning as a Category 3 Hurricane, and wouldn't you know it that less than 10% of the population of the Florida Keys had evacuated. This is not going to be pretty - that would be Hurricane Betty...

SIGN OF THE TIMES
Judy Miller (R-Prostitute) is getting the Jayson Blair treatment at the New York Times. Editor Bill Keller scourged Miller professionally and Maureen Dowd ripped her as only MoDo can do. I wonder if Miller's actions will reflect on White women in journalism like Jayson Blair's reflected on Black men. No, I'm serious. Stop laughing. Fine - let's do sports.

WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING OUT
It appears that the New Orleans Saints are abandoning N'Awlins. The owner says that no decision will be made until the end of the season, but haven't we heard that verbiage before? Something about no decision about going to war having been made? About exhausting every effort to avoid that unfortunate possibility? And how long has the NFL been trying to get a franchise into America's second-largest television market? Goodbye bayou, hello Hollywood.
