Requiem for New Orleans Part II

The following is an untitled poem by Ed Ntiri

Lives lost,
mothers crying
babies floating in water.
We sit still, in dark and cold
waiting for our soldiers.

They're on the way
lets stay together.
They'll bring our lives back
a volunteer tells us no ones coming,
...they're all off fighting in Iraq.
