Monkey Business
"All men are created equal" -
Is this what I'm to understand?
According to the founders
Only a White man who owns land
Is equal to one vote
But those who descended from another boat
Rate three-fifths of a human being
To the seeing of their all-wise eyes
Eleven score and nine years ago
They got it wrong and fixed it so
We would still be second class citizens
Snake bitten by society's system
Of monkeying with the will of the people
Yet they say that all men are created equal
Yes, under God we are all brothers
But some still seem more equal than others
Is this what I'm to understand?
