Hide The Salami

Yesterday, Howard Dean went on Tweety's show Hardball and flat-out represented. Naturally, as surely as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, some clown at WaPo had to chime in about Dean Popping Off. The point that twisted the commentator's panties into a wad was Dean's comment about Bush playing "hide the salami." Now, of all of the things that have been said over the last week or so - from the efficacy of aborting every Black baby to the efficiency with which the Iraq war is being run - how is it that Howard Dean (D-Spine) is popping off by confusing "Hide the Ball" with "Hide the Salami?" Dean simply stated that Bush needs to be forthcoming with all relevant information about Miers' positions.

As for hiding the salami, I always thought that Bush was playing with the Secretary of State, but I suppose three's company too...

I've been wondering if Dean baiters problem with "hide the salami" had anything to do with bush "putting food on their family."

Hide the Ball? Is that a real expression, or did you just make that up?

It's a real expression, also known as a Shell Game - the Republicans have used the same term wrt Democrats.

I think "The Fix" needs a "fix." Like a new author.

I read his bio too. He graduated G'town in 1998 and married a coach at Catholic University. I'm sorry, but as a CUA Alumn, this is nothing short of treason. Everyone knows that G'town sux.

And yes, we were football rivals. How did you guess? :-)

mmm...well, I guess we don't use that expression in VT...must be why the Gov. got confused. Ball, Salami, their pretty close ;-)

It's also pretty funny that HQ chose *that* quote to put on their blog. LOL. http://www.blogforamerica.com/archives/006995.html

What's up with this word verification thing?

I must admit, with all the spot on and hard hitting things Howard said on Hardball, the one phrase that has stuck in my mind is "hide the salami." I'm desperately trying to figure out how to work that into a post, or a story, or a poem, or *something*.

But, it's hard to believe HQ headlined with that, when he had so much substance. It's just as well I've sworn off the big bad blog.

i thought hide the salami was a sexual euphemism...

whatever...

I pretty much assume that Republicans, in the main sit around and wait for Howard to say anything...and then jump at the screen like a pack of rabid pavlovian dogs.

Hide the salami is a sexual reference - of the middle school genre.
